In today's day, it's extremely important to integrate proper technology use in the classroom. Firstly, because it's engaging and instructional. Secondly, student must know how to use technology since it's a part of our lives today. There are many tools available to be used, and teachers should take advantage of them!
Showing students engaging and informative videos is a great starter to any lesson. It piques their interest and has them interested in what's coming.
Using tools such as projectors, CD players, and smart-boards to teach are fantastic! Students get involved in the lesson being taught. They participate as active learners, and walk away from the lesson with a deep understanding of what's been taught.
Additionally, there are so many education websites available with superb resources for teaching. Education.com and readingrockets.org are just two examples. They have great lessons, games, worksheets and videos to show to the class. It a great pity not to use these!
Furthermore, there are many different learning styles. Many students who have a hard time learning in the traditional ways of teaching do much better when these kind of tools are integrated. It's been proven time and time again. Integrating technology is a great way of differentiating lessons to reach all learners and to have them understand what's being taught in a clear manner. Isn't that our goal?
